Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A representative for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was reached following an review of claims about questionable actions towards women.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
